This makes your mattress the perfect home for them due to the sweat and shed skin we naturally emit while we rest.
Before you panic, these mites are microscopic and are only really a problem if you have allergies or other breathing difficulties. Unfortunately, if you do, they’re bound to make your condition worse. The microscopic particles of their shed skin and faeces is one of the largest contributors to indoor dust, hence their name. This is in turn-on of the biggest aggravators of allergies in your home.
How can I evict the dust mites from my bed?
The most effective method of eviction is a new, quality mattress. For the best effect, try to purchase one made of organic materials, as natural mattresses are highly effective at removing both chemicals and bugs from your sleeping environment. Other methods of preventing dust mites from making a home in your bed include using mattress and pillow protectors. These are most effective when paired with new, quality mattresses, as they work best as a deterrent. However, they require regular washing in order to remove the build-up of dead skin cells.
Another method is using a dehumidifier in your room regularly. This will remove moisture from the environment, making it harder for dust mites to thrive in your mattress. Aim for the humidity of less than 50%, as this makes it more difficult for them to survive.
